There are four main areas of tourist attractions in Alaska. First is the Inside Passage and best viewed on a cruise. Glaciers dominate this area, viewed from both large and small ships. Also great for wildlife viewing (Bears, Eagles, Whales, & Birds) and coastal culture in seaside ports. The second area is the Interior Area about Fairbanks, Anchorage, and Denali. Magnificent scenery abounds, high mountain peaks, glaciers, woodlands, and water features. See by rail, car, motor coach, ATV, dog sled, and snowmobile. Thirdly is the Arctic or Polar Region. Vast areas of tundra and the Northern Lights. The fourth large area are the Aleutian Islands and the grandeur of the people who inhabit this area and its unique volcanism. The main tourist season for Alaska visitation is April-September when the weather is mild (generally) and daylight is at its peak. Cruise season starts in April and lasts well into September. Sights and wildlife abound as Alaska is a summer migration haven. But do not forget the interior and its spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife. Timber abounds, mountains are high and snow covered, water is everywhere, and the abundant wildlife is everywhere. As the daylight hours dwindle, views of the Northern Lights and snowmobile and dog sled treks take center stage. Train rides and trips to the Arctic Region of Alaska allow you to see the 'last frontier' in its awesome winter glory. CL Tours recommends Alaska Tours for all you travel needs to Alaska.
