Monticello

In french, 'little mountain'.  Overlooking Charlottesville and the University of Virginia is Thomas Jefferson's house upon a hill, Monticello.  If it looks familiar, it is.  A likeness of the home is on every U.S. Nickel.  The home and grounds are a tribute to its owner Thomas Jefferson.  An inventor, reader, politician, farmer, horticulturist, and collector.  Many of his inventions, books, plants and life's idiosyncrasies are here.
